Gujarat Government launches Rs 1,369 crore ” At One Click” online cash aid

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani launched an online cash aid initiative titled ”At One Click” for micro small and medium enterprises and textile industries in the state. The state government has announced total of Rs 1,369 crore in aid for around 13,000 MSMEs in Gujarat under the program.

 

India among Switzerland‟s top-3 partners for info exchange on tax matters: Global Forum

India figures among the top-three countries getting detailed information from Switzerland about bank accounts and beneficiary ownership of entities established by their residents in the Alpine nation, according to the latest study by OECD”s Global Forum on transparency and exchange of information for tax purposes. The latest peer review by the Global Forum, referring to the period from July 2015 to June 2018, named India

among the top-three jurisdictions to which Switzerland provided information on request. The other two countries were France and Germany.

 

World Bank Sanctions $400 Million to Enhance Namami Gange Programme

The World Bank and the Government of India on Tuesday signed a loan agreement to enhance support for the Namami Gange Programme that seeks to rejuvenate the Ganga river. The USD400 million operation comprises a loan of USD381 million and a proposed guarantee of up to USD19 million. The agreement for the USD381 million loan was signed

today by Sameer Kumar Khare, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance on behalf of the Government of India and Qaiser Khan, Acting Country Director (India), on behalf of the World Bank. The guarantee instrument will be processed separately.

India, World Bank sign loan agreements for housing sector in Tamil Nadu

The government of India, government of Tamil Nadu and the World Bank signed legal agreements to help low-income groups in the state of Tamil Nadu get access to affordable housing. The legal agreements were signed for two projects – $200 million First Tamil Nadu Housing Sector Strengthening Programme and $50 million Tamil Nadu Housing and Habitat Development Project – to strengthen the state‟s housing

sector policies, institutions, and regulations.

PM extends “Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana” till November 2020

India Ranked 117th in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index 2020

The Sustainable Development Report 2020 has been released. It comprises the SDG Index and Dashboards for all UN member states. The report has been prepared by teams of independent experts at the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and the Bertelsmann Stiftung. As per the report, Sweden topped the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index 2020, followed by Denmark and Finland. India has been

ranked 117th in the index with overall score of 61.92. The score can be depicted as the percentage of SDG achievement.

In accordance with the “INFORM Report 2020: Shared evidence for managing crises and disasters” released by research centre INFORM, operating under the European Commission (EU). The report has analyzed 191 countries. The report ranked the countries based on “INFORM Risk Index” which has been topped by Somalia with an inform risk

IRDAI forms panel for creation of „Indian Pandemic Risk Pool

 

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has formed a working group to study and make recommendations on formation of an “Indian Pandemic Risk Pool”. The panel has been tasked to examine the possibility of addressing the different risks which have arised out of a COVID-19 pandemic with the help of a “Pandemic Risk Pool”. These risks includes Business Interruption losses without concurrent Material damage loss, loss of employment would result in huge losses much beyond the capacity of Government /Insurers /Reinsurers.

RBI: Tamil Nadu tops market borrowings among States

According to data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Tamil Nadu has raised ₹30,500 crores in the fiscal 2020-21 and has topped market borrowings among States in the country. Tamil Nadu, which has accounted for 17% of the borrowings done through the issue of bonds (known as state development loans), has been followed by Maharashtra ₹25,500 crores (14%), Andhra Pradesh ₹17,000 crores (9%) and Rajasthan ₹17,000 crores (9%).

IRDAI gives its nod to Insurance companies to launch corona Kavach Health Insurance Policies

Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has allowed 29 general and health insurers to launch short-term „Corona Kavach’ health insurance policies. The policy will cover medical expenses occurred due to coronavirus disease.  The insurance regulator said that it has designed a standard Covid specific product addressing basic health insurance needs of insuring public with common policy wordings

across the industry. The sum insured amount of the policy ranges between fifty thousand rupees to five lakh rupees.  This policy can be availed by persons between the age of 18 to 65 years. People can avail the Corona Kavach policy for Self, spouse, parents, parents-in-law and dependent children up to 25 years of age.

Hockey India has appointed Manipur’s Gyanendro Ningombam as its new officiating president after Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad stepped down from his post owing to his personal reasons and family commitments. Madhya Pradesh has topped among the other states in the implementation of PM Street Vendor‟s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi).
